I Started our business,  Get You In Shape, in 2006. We have helped thousands of clients look and feel 10 years younger.  It comes down to a few simple things.

1. People need a plan.

2. People need a coach to help hold them accountable to following that plan.

We’re six months into 2025.

For some, that’s a reason to celebrate — you set goals back in January and you’re crushing it.

For others, it’s a bit more sobering — “Wait… wasn’t I going to finally start [fill in the blank]?”

In fact, now is the perfect time to reset or recommit. Whether you’re building momentum or just getting started, the second half of the year holds incredible potential.

  1. Move daily – Stretch, walk, dance, lift. Just move.

  2. If fat loss is your goal, be mindful of calories. It’s not about perfection — it’s about awareness.

  3. Eat more fruits and veggies.

  4. Choose lean proteins. Prioritize whole foods over processed ones.

  5. Drink more water. Cut back on alcohol, soda, and even diet drinks.

  6. Strength train 2–3x a week — especially if you’re over 50.

  7. Stop eating in front of the screen. You’ll be surprised how much that helps.

  8. Hire a coach or trainer. Support and accountability change everything.

  9. Join a small group workout. Built-in motivation and community.

  10. Set clear goals. “I want to hike with my grandkids” > “I want to lose weight.”

  11. Talk through limitations. Injuries or confidence issues? Let a pro guide you.

  12. Say “I love you” daily. It’s good for the soul.

  13. Practice mindfulness, prayer, or quiet. Reset your inner world.

  14. Do the hard thing. You already know what it is.

  21. Hydrate and use sunscreen. Especially in the summer heat.

  22. Put down the phone. Pick up a book or be still.

  23. Trust yourself. You know what matters.

  24. Schedule your workouts like appointments. Make them non-negotiable.

  25. Don’t go it alone. There’s power in community.
