Meet Steve: A Wake-Up Call at 60
Steve Brant is a civil engineer who has lived in Coppell, Texas for over 30 years. Like many high-achieving professionals, he spent most of his adult life prioritizing work, family responsibilities, and daily stress—but not his own health.
By the time he turned 60, Steve had collected more than just career wins. He was living with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and the lasting effects of a mild heart attack he experienced 20 years prior.
“I’ve battled weight my whole life. I’m a Type A personality, and I focused almost entirely on work. I wasn’t active. And it caught up to me.”
The warning signs were all there. Constant fatigue. Poor blood sugar control. A sense that every year, things were getting harder—not better.
The Turning Point: From Sedentary to Serious
Steve admits that he wasn’t completely inactive—he’d go on a walk now and then, or hop on a bike when guilt pushed him to move—but he lacked the structure and consistency needed to make a true impact.
He described his lifestyle as sedentary, and over time, it showed. His A1C had risen above 9, and his glucose levels were rarely in a healthy range.
Eventually, the cycle of yo-yo dieting and starting over wore him down. He knew he needed something different: not a temporary fix, but a sustainable system for real change.
“I finally decided to stop the rollercoaster. I wanted a lifestyle change. Not just another diet.”
A New Approach: Structure, Coaching, and Honesty
One of the most powerful shifts for Steve came through tracking his food intake using tools like MyFitnessPal. While it wasn’t easy at first, the brutal honesty of logging everything he ate became one of the biggest drivers of change.
“I had no idea how many calories I was actually taking in until I started tracking. Once I saw it in black and white, I knew what I needed to change.”
He also gained access to expert guidance, weekly tools, and simple, practical strategies to make better nutrition choices—without overhauling his life.
That combination of accountability, coaching, and self-awareness led to some life-changing results.
The Results: Better Health Without More Medications
Over the course of his transformation, Steve began seeing major improvements—not just in how he looked, but in how he felt and what his lab results showed.
