From Stuck at 60 to Fit Over 50: Derek’s 31-Pound Weight Loss Journey
9 min
Week 1 (first day of bootcamp for me)
July 7, 7pm, 1.1 mi at 15.57 min
8:45 for the .6 mile–barefoot is still fun!
12:40 for 1.1, first time I ran the 1.1–it was hot!!
July 7th, 6pm, 1.1 at 11.08 minutes
Finished at 7:28 (or about there) right along with Dan and Bill.
8:45 for the 1.1. I am not a runner and it was definitely my fastest mile ever. Keeping up with other runners definitely helps me to stay on pace.
I ran 5.5 1/2 mile on July 7th
5:37 for the .6 mile. Not sure what my last time was…
9.10 for the 1.1
8:20 for the 1.1
Ran .6 in 7.21 (one minute improvement from last time – but apparently I did not save the comment :/ )
opps, i mean 25 seconds
10 minutes 45 seconds for the 1.1 mile
15.15 for the 1.1. Lots of room for improvement.
Ran the 1.1. mile at 9 minutes 52 seconds
8:07 for the 1.1.
8:23…still seems fast for me
10min for the 1 mile
1.1 in 8 min 30 sec. Wasn’t in town the first time so I don’t know if this is an improvement or not. However, I am sure we will do it again some time!
1.1 miles in 9:10
Did the 1.1 mile and improved my time to 9:42
.6 / 6 min 27 sec
7:17 for the .6 (Definitely not a runner now or ever before and at the back of the group, but not giving up.) I used to think the only reason to run was if you were being chased by someone with a knife. Now, I can see how I am building up my endurance and shedding some weight–all a good thing.
I ran a 8.07 mile on 100707. Competition always helps me push a litlle harder.
