What was your life like before Get You In Shape?

Before joining the Get You In Shape I led a very sedentary life style. My physical activity was limited by short walks with our family dog. I was indiscriminate in food choices and meal portion size. I constantly felt tired.

Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?

I knew that I needed to make a change to improve my wellbeing and health. However, I didn’t want to join just another gym. “Get You In Shape” ad piqued my interest. I was intrigued by balanced approach including structured physical training sessions and meal plans.

What was your first impression of Get You In Shape?

I like the fact that there are different fitness levels and it’s not like you are in competition with anybody. You are just in competition with yourself. I like the flexibility – the fact that I can do the exercises at home, and I don’t need a lot of equipment, just my mat and a couple of weights. 

I also like being around a group of humans interact, have jokes and be outside in nature. Nutrition counseling, recipies are all part of the program. It is unique about this program. You are part of a community of people striving to be healthy.

What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefitted you?

“My Coach” app: meal plans, recipes, groceries shopping lists, variety of training and educational videos. Coaching sessions with trainer. Facebook group and chat.

How is Get You In Shape different from other programs you have tried before?

There is wide variety of training sessions, nutrition counseling and meal plans. Recipes are easy to prepare and are very affordable. I completely changed the way I do grocery shopping and prepare meals for my family. The Coaches ensure personal accountability through encouragement and modified exercise/meal plans.

What results and benefits have you experienced with Get You In Shape?

I have lost 23 pounds over three months on the program. The weight came off steadily without any health complications. My physical fitness has improved significantly. In the beginning of the program, I could not run or do pushups. Now I can alternate running with brisk walking as well as do pushups in knee plank position. Before starting the program, I suffered from poor sleep and periodic high blood pressure. I am happy to share that my sleep improved, and the blood pressure has been within normal parameters.

What would you say to anyone looking at this program?

Well rounded health and fitness program encompassing coaching and nutrition counseling.
