Debbe France is a “Retired Book Lady” and lives in Coppell.

What was your life like before Get You In Shape?

I recognized the fact that I needed to work out-I’d taken on some responsibilities that required me to be active on my feet. I’d go on the internet, find something that looked good then try it for awhile-got mixed results. I also worked with weights- I liked how easy my live was with a bit of muscle.

Why did you decide to join the Get You In Shape program?

I’ve lived in Coppell for many years and I know some of the folks that work out with you. I was reminded of GYIS every time I went to Andy Brown- the trailer. Then I ran into Brad at the kids preschool and jumped in with both feet!

What was your first impression of Get You In Shape?

In spite of the advice- I was feeling overwhelmed. Its a lot of info to process. Then I spent a couple weeks second quessing myself-” drink how much water? Oh I can’t do that.” ‘Work out how many times a week? Nope nope too old.” “ Jog a mile then workout??” Madness. But once I saw other people doing it I decided to reverse course. I chose to do everything- follow the instructions. I figured I could I pick out what was do-able with my schedule and what I could do vs. not do. But first i have to do it all. No more second guessing and undermining myself!

What have been some of the tools you have used that have benefitted you?

I really like the MyCoach and Fitness Pal. I read the notes on the Mycoach every day- sometimes it has info I need, sometimes it has info I needed to be remind….

How is Get You In Shape different from other programs you have tried before?

The program is very comprehensive- not just the blend of nutrition and workout- lots of folks do that. But if I  go to all the workouts I really feel like I touched on everything- arms, legs, abs, cardio, stretching. Top to bottom, front to back. And even tho’ they are group classes, the trainers are so involved, so engaged that it feels like one- on -one. And since my schedule can change week to week I like that there are classes several times a day. And with the My Coach app, there is someone available to answer my questions asap.

What results and benefits have you experienced with Get You In Shape?

This question is tricky- I can tell you that I feel great but I hate to imply I felt awful before. But I had some aches, pains, poor sleep, looking for caffeine after 4 in the afternoon. I had chalked it up to my age. But with the exercise, the hydration, the better nutrition all those things that I thought were normal for my age- gradually went away. I wake up perky, can pretty much do anything I want, have plenty of energy and sleep like a stone.And now that I know the up side of these changes, it’s easier to keep the habits going…..I don’t have to remind myself to drink my water. It’s more than just habit- you get hooked on feeling good. And some of my not so great habits- my diet coke when I’m hot, my glass of wine at night, my “ just one cookie” have just disappeared. No trama, it just doesn’t sound good to me anymore.

What would you say to anyone looking at this program?

Give it to you straight- the hardest part is getting started….But right from the get go, you’ll enjoy the trainers, and the other folks who work out the time will fly. And the next thing you know, an integral part of your day!
